Overview
Wedding favors are a great way for the newlyweds to thank guests for attending. Favors don't need to be extravagant or lavish, just a little token of appreciation for sharing in the couple's special day. Here are a few creative favor ideas that will leave guests smiling.
-
Edible Favors
Give guests a sweet goodbye by sending them off with a tasty treat. Homemade cookies and milk, packaged to go, are fun for couples with a sweet tooth and for receptions that run late into the evening. Fill paper pastry cones with miniature chocolate chip cookies and have your reception staff set them out along with ice cold miniature bottles of milk as guests are leaving. Attach a tag to the cookies thanking guests for their attendance.
A candy buffet is also a nice way to say thank you to guests. Print your names and the date of the wedding on bags and set out a table of old-fashioned jars filled with your favorite candy. Then invite guests to help themselves on the way out the door.
If you're hosting a sit-down, formal event, place a wrapped piece of high-end chocolate and a split of champagne at each guest's place setting. Purchase or make labels for the bottle of wine that include your names and the date of your wedding.

Eco-Friendly Favors
For garden weddings or more informal events, give each guest a packet of seeds, tagged with your wedding date and a fun phrase like "Let love grow." Or arrange potted plants as your centerpiece and invite each guests to take one as they leave.
Purchase handmade paper embedded with actual flower seeds and print a thank you. When guests get home, they can plant the note and it will bloom into flowers. For smaller weddings, leave a note at each guest's place setting that indicates a tree has been planted in her name.

Give guests a flower to take home.

Personalized Favors
Give guests a taste of some of your favorite things as a couple. If you are big football fans, leave a bag of football-shaped candies with your team's logo. If you both like to golf, imprint golf balls with your wedding date and wrap them up with a few tees.
Give guests the gift of you by thanking them with a small frame filled with an engagement photo or create a personalized magnet or coasters with your faces.
