How to Use the Backup Utility on Windows XP Home Edition

by Mercedes T. Green
  • Overview

Viruses, damaged media, hackers, corruption and user error constantly threaten the integrity and availability of your data. Microsoft Windows XP Home and Professional editions include a backup utility, which you can use to back up and restore your user data or your entire system. Keep copies of your backups at an off-site location, which is climate controlled and secure. Test backups by doing periodic data restorations because tapes and other backup media fail on occasion.
