by Contributing Writer
3Cloth diapers are becoming increasingly convenient for parents to use. The fact is, cloth diapers are so easy to use that you can take vacation with them anywhere with ease. By making a few modifications to your regular routine anyone can travel with cloth diapers.Enough diapers for 3 days
3 wool diaper covers
Large wetbag
Medium wetbag
2 dozen cloth wipes
Spray bottle filled with water
Washer and dryer or services
Pack your cloth diapers. Pack enough in your accessible luggage for the duration of your journey. For example, if you will be on a six hour flight pack enough diapers to change once an hour plus one extra as a back-up. Also, pack your medium wetbag, two wool covers, a dozen wipes and your spray bottle in this same accessible luggage. In your inaccessible luggage pack your remaining diapers, an additional wool cover and your large wetbag. If you are traveling by car you can pull over anywhere and change baby on the passenger seat. If you are traveling by plane you can either use your traveling companion's seat or use the lavatory where baby can be changed on the closed lid. Lay out an extra prefold to use as a changing mat. Spray two wipes with the water bottle. Change the diaper as you would a disposable diaper but put the soiled diaper in your zippered wetbag along with the cloth wipes that you use. Rotate your wool covers throughout the journey. Repeat as necessary until you reach your destination. When you arrive at your destination empty the cloth diapers from your medium wetbag into your large wetbag. You will be able to store your three days of diapers this way without leaking. When you go out during the day, pack your day bag with the essentials you used in step two. Your medium wetbag can be used several times before it will need to be washed. You will wash your diapers when you have about five left. Wash your wetbags and wipes as well. Since you are traveling with wool covers they will not need to be washed until you are back home. Before you leave to return home make sure all of your diapers are clean again so the you may pack them as you did upon your departure. Repeat that packing process and you are ready to go home.
If you will only be gone a few days your diapers can stay in the large wetbag until your return.Never wash wool diaper covers in the washing machine. This may shrink them.Cloth diapers, travel, vacation
