Thai Restaurants in Atlanta, GA

by Kyle Martin
  • Thai food is characterized by its intense heat and its blend of five fundamental flavors: salty, sweet, hot, sour and sometimes bitter. Thai food is further broken down into four regions of the country, with each contributing a signature characteristic to the food. Southern curries, for instance, mix their food with coconut milk, while the northeastern dishes contain more lime. All of these delights can be found in the metropolitan area of Atlanta, which offers a variety of Thai restaurants.

  • L'Thai Organic Cuisine and Wine Bar

If you're into organic cuisine, then L'Thai is the place for you. Billing itself as the first organic Thai restaurant outside of Thailand, L'Thai received three out of five stars in a restaurant review by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The vegetables and herbs are locally grown and the meat is supplied by free-range chicken, grass-fed cows and wild fish. Round off your meal with a sticky rice pudding in coconut sauce. This dessert is served hot with a custard thickened with taro. Service is fair, although the kitchen can get bogged down during the busiest hours. Recommended meals from the Journal-Constitution include organic vegetable tempura, crisp basil duck and drunken noodle tofu. Children are welcome and reservations are accepted.
