    Why Teach English Abroad?
Thousands of people go abroad each year to teach English as a second language (ESL). Many countries allow English-speakers to teach without any teaching experience and a college degree in any subject. If you have a craving to travel and a mastery of the English language, pack your bags and prepare for an adventure.
  • Gaining Career Experience

If you want to become a teacher, teaching ESL is a good way to test your skills and eventually decide if teaching is the career for you. It will also teach you patience, an invaluable tool for any career.

  • Learn about Other Cultures

Teaching ESL gives you first-hand experience of other cultures. Trying different foods and establishing relationships with local people broadens your life experience in many positive ways.
  • Learn Another Language

Living in another country gives the opportunity (actually, makes it necessary) for you to learn another language. Many local people are more than willing to help you learn their language, especially local dialects.
  • Money

The money earned from teaching overseas is tax-free if you meet the requirements of the Internal Revenue Service. Many college graduates are able to pay off their student loans during the time they are teaching ESL overseas.
  • Sightseeing

Visiting a Buddhist temple in Japan, an historic site in South Korea, or a museum in Poland wiles away weekend time. You may also be able to visit other countries fairly close to your teaching job location.
