Geisha
Geisha in the Upper East Side neighborhood serves Asian cuisine using classic French techniques. The décor is reminiscent of the beautiful and mysterious Geisha, and the style is dressy and trendy. The menu features spicy hamachi, avocado rolled inside out with layers of wasabi tobiko; Alaskan king crab, cucumbers from Japan, rolled inside out and topped with slices of avocado; Hawaiian white tuna rolled with asparagus, potato chips and topped with creamed avocado and slices of white tuna; grilled teriyaki salmon, romaine lettuce, rolled inside out and topped with slices of fresh salmon and jalapenos. Geisha is open for lunch Monday through Friday and for dinner Monday through Saturday. Reservations are strongly recommended.

Kurumazushi in the Midtown East neighborhood offers contemporary Japanese cuisine. The décor and style are trendy and relaxed. The menu features fresh tuna filet over sushi rice; sushi rice with different sashimi toppings; kani, cucumber and avocado, topped with masago; smoked salmon, cream cheese and avocado with sushi rice. Sushi Zen in the Midtown West neighborhood offers traditional Japanese cuisine. The décor and style are traditional and upscale. The menu features a sushi and sashimi combination of three tuna, three Spanish mackerel, three white fish, two white fish with kaiware, tuna, salmon, quid, shrimp sushi, tuna naruto, and egg custard; a premium sushi platter consisting of tuna, fluke, kampachi, kohada, king salmon, tuna marinate, sea urchin, egg custard and fatty tuna served with scallions and pickles; yellowtail and avocado wrapped in tuna. Morimoto in the Chelsea neighborhood serves contemporary Japanese cuisine. The décor and style is casual chic. The menu features roast duck, foie gras croissant, duck eggs sautéed in red miso sauce; marinated chicken with roasted finger peppers and spiced chicken jus; spiced potatoes, crushed citrus and avocado served with kobe filet and hamachi ribbons.
