Overview
When hosting a Super Bowl party, you need not wear yourself out spending all day preparing food. Keep it simple. Quick, delicious and easy does it is the order of the day.
-
Advance Preparation
Cook your specialty foods in advance. If you make a mean chili, a mouth-watering guacamole or a funky football cake, make it in advance and store it in the refrigerator or freezer. Stock up on paper plates, napkins, toothpicks and plasticware. You don't want to spend postgame time washing dishes instead of relaxing with your friends. Make sure you have plenty of condiments, snack foods and beverages, so there will be no last-minute trips to the store.

Food Ideas
Fill a slow cooker with your favorite beer, set the temperature on high, bring to a boil and add hot dogs. Set out buns and condiments for your guests to help themselves.
Mix drained canned pinto or black beans and drained canned corn with your favorite salsa. Serve with taco chips.
Set up a taco bar. Fill a small slow cooker with seasoned taco meat. Set out taco shells, lettuce, tomato, guacamole and sour cream and let your guests make their own tacos.
Hollow out small hard rolls and use them as bread bowls for chili.
Instead of having carryout pizza, buy cans of soft bread sticks. Unroll them and add your favorite pizza sauce, toppings and cheese. Cook according to package directions.
