How to Stop Microsoft ActiveSync

Overview
ActiveSync is a Microsoft application that allows users on Windows machines to transfer data from computers to mobile devices. It also pushes information from the mobile device to the computer, keeping data and contact information in sync. ActiveSync might cause technical or performance issues on some computers, so stopping the service is done to help troubleshoot problems.
-
-
Step 1
Click the "Start" button and choose "ActiveSync."
-
Step 2
Click the "Stop" button. This stops the service.
-
Step 3
To verify the ActiveSync is no longer active, click the "Menu" button and select "Status." A red status signal means the service is stopped. If the status is green, stop the service again.
