    When the snow is falling, the last thing you want to do is scramble to find a suitable sledding hill. Luckily there are a few ways to locate sledding hills, and if you do a little research in advance, you'll be instead be able to start sledding right away.

    Check online sledding locator websites to check for are sledding locations near you. Sledriding.com, a link to which can be found in the "Resources" section, lists sledding locations all over the United States. When you enter your location, nearby sledding hills will be displayed.

    Visit your local parks department website to check for any information on sledding hills in your area. Many cities and towns have dedicated wintertime sledding hills. Alternately, try calling the parks department and ask about sledding locations.
  • Step 3

    Visit your local state park website to see if if they have sledding locations available. Fees are sometimes required when visiting a state park, so be sure to check to see if you need a parking permit.
