Schools for Accounting in Florida

Between Florida's public university system and the many private universities across the state, there are many options for students looking to study accounting. All of these programs will prepare students to take the Florida Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam, required by many official accounting jobs. But getting an accounting bachelor's degree is not enough to take the CPA exam. Requirements to take the exam differ from state to state, but Florida requires at least 30 credit hours of advanced accounting courses beyond a standard bachelor's degree to take the CPA exam.

Florida has many schools for accounting.

University of Miami
University of Miami's School of Business Administration offers a wide array of accounting programs including a Bachelor of Science, two different tracks for Master of Science, and a Ph.D. Courses offered include cost accounting, accounting systems, auditing and advanced taxation.
Because University of Miami is a private university, it has significantly higher tuition than Florida's public universities. But a number of merit and need-based scholarships and assistantships are available that can significantly reduce tuition costs.
