Overview
"RuneScape" is a free massively multiplayer online roleplaying game. Developed by Jagex Ltd., it was released in 2001 and followed by a high-definition version in 2008. The in-game economy is fueled by gold coins, which are used to purchase items from in-game vendors and other players. There are numerous ways to earn money in "RuneScape," some more efficient than others.
-
Lootshare
Lootshare is one of the most efficient and lucrative ways to make money. When a high-level member of your clan fights and kills a monster that you can't kill yourself, and you are within 16 squares of it, you will receive an equal share of the loot, even if you didn't participate. You must both be in clan chat for you to benefit from Lootshare. Make sure to get permission first or you could be viewed negatively as an opportunist.
The barbarians at the Barbarian Village and the cockroaches in the Stronghold of Player Safety are good monsters for Lootsharing because they are non-aggressive, fairly easy to kill and drop decent loot that sells well. Note that Lootshare is not available in all locations.

Bones
Most creatures drop bones when they die. Collect as many as you can and, when you've gathered about 500, sell them on the Grand Exchange. Bones increase in value as the monsters get larger. The bones of standard animals like chickens and cows sell for around 75 coins, while large dragon bones can earn you more than 300. Since the Grand Exchange is a dynamic marketplace, the prices will vary depending on supply and demand.

Cows and Chickens
Killing the cows in Lumbridge and Gnomecopter can earn you a sizable heap of coins. Cows drop a number of items that other players find useful. Cow hides can be sold on the Grand Exchange for 100 to 175 coins each, or you can tan them into leather to sell for more than 200. Players leveling up their cooking skill will purchase raw beef for approximately 150 coins.
The chickens in Lumbridge and at the farm south of Falador also drop various items that can be sold on the Grand Exchange. Raw chicken meat is used by cooks and their feathers are used for fly fishing.

Skills and Crafting
You can learn a variety of skills in "RuneScape" and most provide money-making opportunities. Skills like fishing, mining and woodcutting allow you to collect raw materials that other crafters need to improve their own skills. Crafts such as cooking and smithing also result in items that can be sold on the Grand Exchange. For example, the adamantite bars created by smithing sell for nearly 3,000 gold coins.

Player vs.Player
In player-versus-player, or PvP, your goal is to kill other players. Doing so earns you some of the other player's items, as well as random loot distributed by the game. The longer you remain in a PvP world, the better the loot you'll receive. You must have a combat level of at least 20 to enter a PvP world. If you die, you will lose all of your items, so only use this as a money-making strategy if you are confident in your combat skills.
