Romantic Valentine Gift Ideas for Her

by Kylie Keeler
  • Overview

If you're on the hunt for a romantic Valentine's Day gift, you're more than likely stuck on the usual fare: flowers, candy and teddy bears. However, for a Valentine's Day gift to be truly romantic, it also needs to show that you've spent some time choosing a gift that will show her exactly what she means to you. Keep your gift idea fresh, and it won't look as if you've viewed your gift-buying experience as a chore.

  • All About You Basket

Create a basket that shows you pay attention to her and truly "get her" with an "All about You Basket." Fill the basket food items you know she loves as well as those little things that help to contribute to the person she is. Add DVDs of her favorite films and television series, shower gel in her favorite scent, that new book she's been talking about buying and maybe a gift card to her favorite store.

  • Romantic Movie DVD Library

Gather five to 10 romantic movies on DVD you know she loves. Be sure to include those movies that you enjoyed together as well. Movies can range from dramatic weep-fests to romantic comedies. Package all the DVDs together by tying a red ribbon around the set with a tag indicating that you plan to watch each one of them with her in the near future.
  • Picnic at Home Basket

In many locales, mid-February isn't very conducive to an outdoor picnic. While it might seem like this destroys the idea of treating her to a picnic, you can bring the picnic indoors with a "Picnic at Home Basket." Purchase a picnic basket with all the accessories---matching plates, utensils and napkins--- and begin filling it with everything needed for your indoor picnic. Add upscale cheeses, fruit, crackers, wine and wine glasses.
  • Spa Gift Card

Treat her to an afternoon of pampering and relaxation by purchasing her a spa gift card. Load the gift card with enough funds to ensure that she spends a full afternoon at the spa. This will allow her to get a massage, a facial and other skin treatments the spa may offer.
  • Bring Paris to Her Basket

Due to time and budget constraints, you may not be able to take her to Paris, but that doesn't mean you can't bring Paris to her. Create a basket that's all about Paris. Add books about Paris, DVDs of films that take place in Paris, French grocery items, postcards and a French phrase book.
