How to Roll Craft Ribbon Without a Spool

Overview
Winding ribbon without a spool is something many crafters may have to do at one time or another. Whether it's because the ribbon didn't come with a spool, or the spool was lost along the way, knowing how to wind ribbon without a spool can save time and a mess later.

Step 1
Hold one end of the ribbon between your thumb and the palm of one hand, with your fingers together and straight.

With the other hand, wrap the ribbon around the four fingers of the hand holding the ribbon until you reach the end.

Use a straight pin to fasten each end of the ribbon to the main coil of ribbon, forming a circle with both ends secured.

- You can also use a rubber band to hold the ribbon in the middle once it's wound, creating a figure "8" with the ribbon. Make sure both ends are tucked in.
