How to Restore Telephone Service

by Lacey Roop
  • Overview

The need to restore telephone service is something that many of us will face at one time or another. Many factors, including losing a job, illness or other hardships can prevent you from being able to pay your monthly phone bill. This results in a suspension of your phone service. When the money does become available for you to pay your bill, a few quick and simple steps will have you on the road to enjoying phone service in no time at all.

  • Step 1

Call your phone service provider and explain your situation. In some cases, special arrangements might be made that can lower your required payment and eliminate any added fees.
  • Step 2

Pay the $36-$40 reconnection fee that most services providers charge to begin service again.
  • Step 3

Pay your entire bill. Phone service will resume immediately or within a few minutes time.
