2Southern Shih Tzu Rescue and other rescues throughout Alabama work in conjunction with local shelters to rescue Shih Tzu dogs from abusive homes, abandoned from families who can no longer take care of them, and lost dogs. The rescues are taken into the care of the Southern Shih Tzu Rescue and treated for any medical issues and rehabilitated. Once the recued dogs are healthy they are placed in foster homes and from there are adopted into a loving home such as yours in Alabama.Computer access

The volunteer needs to learn whether your home is fit for a Shih Tzu.The volunteer committee will then follow up with your references and call your veterinarian to ensure that you have a positive history of animal ownership.Once the application process is complete and a suitable Shih Tzu is available to be placed into your home, you will be contacted and the pet will be brought to you.
