How to Remove Internet Explorer Service Pack 2

    Internet Explorer Service Pack 2 is a download available through Microsoft.com. The service pack is an update file that contains patches for Internet Explorer. In some instances, IE Service Packs will patch other Internet-related software, such as email and instant messenger. Internet Service Pack 2 is available on Windows operating systems such as XP, Vista and 7.

  • Step 1

    Click on the "Start" icon on your desktop.
  • Step 2

    Click on the "Run" icon if you are running Windows XP. Click on the search field if you are on Windows Vista or 7. Type in "appwiz.cpl" and hit "Enter." An application window will load.
  • Step 3

    Click on the "Change or Remove Programs" tab.
  • Step 4

    Select "Internet Explorer Service Pack 2" from the list.
  • Step 5

    Click on the "Remove" button.
  • Step 6

    Confirm you wish to remove the service pack, if prompted.
  • Step 7

    Restart the computer, if prompted.
