How to Record a Streaming Music Library

    There are thousands of websites that allow users to listen to streaming audio content ranging from radio stations to dedicated music sites, such as Rhapsody or Grooveshark. You can record your favorite podcasts, radio shows and songs to your hard drive so that you can listen any time.
  • Recording Streaming Audio

 
  • Step 1

    Open your favorite streaming audio website or application and pull up your library.
  • Step 2

    Open the streaming audio recording software of your choice. You may need to switch Steps 1 and 2 according to the guidelines of your software. Some require that the software be open before the streaming source.
  • Step 3

    Designate a folder in the options of the software in which your audio files will download.
  • Step 4

    Specify the file type that you want your files to save as. For example, mp3, wav or wma.
  • Step 5

    Select your sound card as the source of the audio.
  • Step 6

    Begin playing the audio files from your library that you want to record.
  • Step 7

    Left-click the Record button on your software and wait for an indication that it is recording the files.
  • Step 8

    Left-click Stop when you are done recording.
  • Step 9

    Navigate to the folder you designated to save your files in and test them by playing them in a media player.

    Rename your files as desired.
