-
Step 1
Plug the audio/video cable into the rear outputs on the DVD recorder and attach the other end to the inputs on the TV. Turn on both the TV and recorder.
-
Step 2
Plug your camcorder into an outlet. Avoid using battery power.
-
Step 3
Turn on the camcorder and select playback mode. Insert the tape you want to record to DVD.
-
Step 4
Connect a firewire or analog cable from the output of the camcorder to the input on the DVD recorder.
-
Step 5
Use the DVD recorder remote to match the input on your DVD recorder with the input you are using. Use the DV input for firewire and L1 or L2 for analog cables.
-
Step 6
Change the input on the TV (video 1 or 2) to allow you to view what you are recording.
-
Step 7
Check the video signal to make sure that it is coming through to the DVD recorder and TV. Play back the video from the camcorder, and the video and audio should appear from the TV simultaneously.
-
Step 8
Change the record speed to SP, allowing you up to two hours of recording time. Insert a blank DVD into your DVD recorder.
-
Step 9
Start the tape at the beginning and press record on the DVD recorder.
-
Step 10
Stop recording by pressing stop on the DVD recorder. Consult your DVD recorder's manual to learn how to finalize the DVD so it is capable of playback in other devices.
