PES4 features 4,500 different players to choose from and 56 soccer clubs to join. Hundreds of character animations and finely tuned AI realistically recreate player movements and facial expressions. The physics engine accurately influences how the ball moves across the field.

History
The first game in the series was released in 2001 for the original PlayStation and PlayStation 2 consoles. Known as Pro Evolution Soccer in Europe, the game was released as Winning Eleven 5 in Japan and the U.S. A new title is released in the franchise every year. In 2006, Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007 was released, marking the transition point to a consistent naming scheme for the series in all three territories.
