Making the first move to pick up a guy that catches your interest can test your timing and people skills. It also empowers you to go after the men you desire, instead of merely waiting for them to approach you. Don't let shyness or hesitance cause you to miss your chance at love.

Step 1

Survey the landscape. Take note of attractive men, as well as other single women. Realize that you'll be competing for attention, so taking stock of your situation and competitors is essential. Select your target guy based on his appearance and mannerisms. Avoid choosing a guy who seems to be already interested in another woman--unless you desire a challenge.
