How to Open Windows Explorer to a Directory

Step 1
Click on the "Start" button.

Click on "Run".

Type "explorer" with the "root" option along with the directory location you want to open. For example, if I wanted Explorer to open in the d:\temp directory, I would type "Explorer /root, d:\temp" at the run prompt.

Step 4
Click "Ok" at the run prompt or hit the "Return" key on your keyboard. Windows Explorer should then come up in the directory you specified.

- You do not have to put the "root" option in at the run prompt. You can simply type "Explorer c:\temp" to get the same result.
