4Cuban-Americans are a very tight-knit community. From decades of immigration to America, they have become an attractive demographic to target for businesses. Your product or service must provide a specific need to this group. The Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies (AHAA) has been tracking exponential growth of corporate ad spending in all product areas targeting Latinos. When marketing to Cuban-Americans, the advertising industry categorizes their demographic along with Mexicans and Puerto Ricans and so on with Hispanics or Latinos.
- Begin a membership with Cuba Chamber of Commerce. The Cuba Chamber of Commerce is a network of businesses and individuals who seek Cuban-related business opportunities. You can advertise your product on their website or sponsor some of their outreach programs. Their services include a Cuba Forum, Marketplace search Cuban chat and networking opportunities (see Resources below). The Cuba Chamber of commerce can also help you buy or sell Cuban-related domains, buy and sell advertising space and discover cross promotional opportunities with Cuban-American interests.Join and advertise with the Havana Journal. This Journal will enable you to keep you up to date on member business developments and relevant news. They are developing a virtual trade show that will give your product exposure to your target market. The Havana Journal also keeps you up to date with government affairs that may affect U.S.-Cuba trade. You will also have access to the Visitors' and Information Center . This center will distribute you promotional print materials (see Resources below).Purchase advertising in the Hispanic Business Magazine. This magazine focuses on businesses targeted towards Hispanics, including Cubans (see Resources below).Develop an advertising campaign with Google or other search engines. High tech Hispanic youths are increasingly turning to the Internet as a way to meet friends, listen to music from their home country and catch up on their favorite sports teams. Using the Internet, you will be able to target Cuban-Americans more effectively.
