Making an Angel Car Donation

Overview

Donating your old car to the Car Angel charity is a way to get rid of something you don' t need and help others who are less fortunate. The site claims that you can donate a car in 50 seconds through their user-friendly system.

Step 1

Call 1-800-Car-Angels. Tell the operator your name, address, email and phone number. Supply the car's make, color, VIN number and model, and tell the operator what charity you would like the benefits to go towards. The charity choices include helping teen and adult rehab, orphans, single mothers, homeless people and prison reform.
Step 2

Go to the website and fill out a form to give them all of this information if that's easier than making a phone call. While you're there you can research the charities affiliated with Car Angels (see Resources below).
Step 3

Check your email for your receipt, which can be used as a tax write-off.
Step 4

Wait for the organization to pick your car up and haul it away for free. They do all of the title transfers, as well.
