How to Make Your Own Christmas Card Holder

by Monica J. Miller
  • Overview

If you are looking for a new way to display Christmas cards, assemble an easy clothesline-style Christmas card holder. Using rolled cork sheet (available in crafts or office supply stores) and painted clothespins, you can display beautiful Christmas cards on the wall. Instead of filing away holiday cards, hang them on the wall or over a doorway or fireplace for everyone to admire.

  • Step 1

Place half of the clothespins on a sheet of newspaper and spray paint them red, covering both the wood and the metal. On another sheet of newspaper, spray the remaining clothespins green. Let them dry.
  • Step 2

Turn the clothespins over and paint the other sides using the same method. Let them dry.
  • Step 3

Cut the rolled cork sheet in half lengthwise. Pin the cork strips to the wall with gold thumbtacks.
  • Step 4

Stretch gold metallic yarn lengthwise across each cork strip. Pin the metallic yarn in place with gold angel lapel pins.
  • Step 5

Clip the clothespins onto the line of metallic yarn. Place them about six inches apart, alternating red and green colors.
  • Step 6

Clip Christmas cards onto the clothespins.
