Overview
Making your own melt and pour soap is a relaxing hobby that's creative and easy to learn. It also affords you the peace of mind of providing yourself, your family and friends with all-natural, good-for-your-body soaps made with your own hand-picked ingredients. This melt and pour honey soap is a true gem. It's all-natural and packed with calming, skin-softening ingredients like glycerin, honey and beeswax; everyone who uses it will be buzzing with joy.

-
Step 1
Fill the bottom pot of a double boiler three-quarters full with water. Bring to a boil, then immediately reduce to a simmer.
-
Step 2
Chop, into small chunks 2 cups of glycerin soap base. Place it in the top pot of your double boiler and place the pot on top of the bottom pot with the simmering water. Stir occasionally as the soap base melts.
-
Step 3
Melt 1/4 cup pure beeswax in a separate saucepan. Stir the melted beeswax into the melting glycerin soap base. Stir well to incorporate the beeswax.
-
Step 4
Add 1/4 cup pure, all-natural grade A honey. Stir well to incorporate the honey.
-
Step 5
Remove the melted soap mixture from the heat. Allow it to to cool just long enough for a thin film to form on top of the soap.
-
Step 6
Add 6 to 8 drops of cosmetic grade almond fragrance oil. Stir very well to distribute the oil throughout the soap mixture.
-
Step 7
Pour the soap mixture into your soap molds. Place the molds in a cool, dry place and allow them to set for at least 24 hours or until a finger pressed into the soap does not cause an indentation.
-
Step 8
Pop the hardened soaps from the molds and place them on sheets of clean wax paper. Allow them to harden for another 24 hours.
-
Step 9
Wrap your finished soap in plastic wrap until ready to use.
