How to Lose Weight Fast Without Spending Any Money

by Remy Lo
  • Overview

Marketing has conditioned most of us to believe that it costs money to lose weight. While it is true that you can buy some things that will make weight-loss easier, spending money is not a necessary part of quick weight-loss. Most of our ancestors stayed relatively svelte without the use of expensive exercise machines or gym memberships. This alone conclusively proves that money is not an integral part of losing weight. Learning what practices to put in place so that you can begin your weight-loss journey will save you money while you shed pounds.

  • Step 1

Eat less to cut your calories. Access what you would eat in a normal week by maintaining a journal of when you eat and what you eat everyday. After you do this for a week, reduce what you eat in a day's time by eliminating the most fatty and unhealthy foods. This will help you to reduce calories and save money.
  • Step 2

Spread your meals throughout the day. One of the best things you can do to lose weight fast is to get your body to work for you instead of against you. The way you do this is by increasing your metabolic rate naturally. The first way you will perform this is by spreading your meals out during the day. Eat at least 5 meals daily with smaller portions than usual. Make sure that each meal has a serving of carbohydrate, protein and healthy fat. Unhealthy fats such as saturated- and trans-fat should be avoided.
  • Step 3

Go for a brisk walk. Walking is something that can be done no matter where you are. Doing aerobic exercises at least 3 to 4 days a week will encourage rapid weight-loss. Make sure that when you perform aerobic exercise that you do it for at least 30 minutes of continuously. Other aerobic exercises such as jumping jacks and riding your bike can be employed for free as well and provide excellent cardio-conditioning.
  • Step 4

Perform as many manual tasks as possible. Ironing your own cloths instead of getting them pressed at the dry cleaner is an example of doing tasks manually that will keep your body moving. Another task that can keep your body moving and save you money while you shed pounds is doing your own yard work. You can also clean the house vigorously to complete two tasks at once.
  • Step 5

Avoid a busy schedule. Going out on the town to pay bills or drop your children off at needless events will only encourage you to eat out. The busier your schedule is away from home usually means that you will substitute healthy eating with convenience food. A busy schedule also tends to stress you out which also results in higher spending and comfort eating.

  • Exercises such as pushups, crunches, lunges, and squats will help to tone the body while adding muscle that will increase the amount of calories that are burned on a daily basis. While muscle weighs more than fat, in the long run you will have the ability to lose more weight quicker with lean muscle than with fat.
