Korean Restaurants in Cincinnati

by Jessica Prussia
  • Cincinnati area restaurants serving strictly Korean food can be a little difficult to come by, but if you look closely, you can find a few great places serving authentic Korean foods in traditional environments. Although chopsticks and padded floor seating are available at most Cincinnati Korean restaurants, silverware and dining tables are most commonly used.
  • Sung Korean Bistro

Sung Korean Bistro offers authentic Korean cuisine at affordable prices in a relaxed, well-designed environment. Traditional Korean floor seating is available, but most of the Bistro goers prefer the table and chairs in the front end of the restaurant. The restaurant offers a great selection for meat eaters and vegetarians alike, including favorites such as Goonmandu and Jihn Mandu, both of which are types of stuffed vegetable dumplings. Pay lot parking is available nearby at Gramercy Parking on 7th Street. Expect a fun crowd on Friday and Saturday nights, when Sung hosts live music and DJ's. Reservations are recommended and can be done by phone or on-line. Sung is open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Their dinner hours are Monday through Thursday, 4:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 4:30 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. and Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Sung Korean Bistro 700 Elm St. Cincinnati, OH 45202 (513) 721-7864 www.sungkoreanbistro.com
  • The Korea House

The Korea House is a small restaurant located just outside of Cincinnati city limits in Symmes Township. Each dinner served here comes with six different side dishes of seasoned vegetables, including the restaurant's most popular vegetable side dish, kimchi. The prices are low, and the atmosphere is casual. Walk-in seating is always available, but reservations are recommended on Friday nights. Take-out is also an option, with party trays available to feed larger crowds. The Korea House is open Monday through Friday for lunch from 11:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., then opens again for dinner from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Saturday hours are 12:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., and the restaurant is closed on Sunday.
