Add to the holiday season with a relaxing and festive Christmas Tea. Plan your menu using the sights, sounds and smells of the holidays from cinnamon and allspice to red and green trimmings.
Teas

Serve a Christmas-themed blend of tea or a cinnamon-flavored blend such as Harney & Sons Holiday tea, White Christmas tea or Hot Cinnamon Spice. Stash Tea makes a tea blend called Stash Christmas Morning. A peppermint-flavored herbal tea is another tea choice to bring in that holiday flavor to the party.

Trimmings

Decorate with holly, poinsettias or other greenery and red flowers like ivy and red roses or carnations. Tie large Christmas-colored bows around the backs of chairs. Arrange candles, bowls of glass ball ornaments, sprays of evergreen, or garlands hung with candy canes.
Serving

Use holiday- or Christmas-patterned dishes for snacks and tea. You can serve the tea using a silver tea or a teaset to match the pattern of the tea cups and plates.

Try some traditional English holiday treats such as mincemeat tarts, trifle, gingerbread cookies or Christmas pudding. You can also serve finger sandwiches such as cucumber sandwiches or egg salad sandwiches.

Hang favors in stockings. A teapot ornament or tea cup and saucer ornament are cute favor ideas at a Christmas tea party, or give a small tin of the holiday blend tea you served. You can also give one teacup and saucer to each lady--either an eclectic mix of options you can pick up at thrift stores or antique shops, or you can buy white or ivory options and add the lady's name and the date of the tea to each cup and/or saucer with a silver or gold paint pen.
