Gulf Shores Bachelorette Party Ideas

by Margaret Carter
  • Overview

Gulf Shores is situated on the southern tip of Alabama off the Gulf of Mexico. Gulf Shores is home to many entertainment opportunities, including bachelorette parties. Even if the bride isn't into the typical bar-hopping or spa-day bachelorette party, there are plenty of other memorable venues to choose from.
  • Deep-Sea Fishing

Gulf Shores offers a variety of water activities for your bachelorette party. If the bride is adventurous and loves to try new things, try deep-sea fishing off the Gulf of Mexico. Unlike Mississippi and Florida, Alabama does not require a saltwater-fishing license in order to go out on the sea and catch fish. Use the fish you catch during your fishing excursion to prepare a mouth-watering bachelorette party meal. Consider inviting the groom and his friends to dinner to show off your fishing and cooking skills, then split up after dinner in groups to party the night away.

  • Dolphin Cruise

If the bride likes dolphins, hop aboard the Dolphin Cruise at Flipper's Seafood and Oyster Bar. This cruise is a 90-minute excursion into the inland waters of Gulf Shores, where you can watch the dolphins dance and surf. If you have enough people, call ahead and schedule a chartered tour. If your Gulf Shores bachelorette party is a small group, call a day or two in advance and make reservations for an excursion. After the tour, relax and enjoy the tiki bar at Flipper's.
  • Fort Morgan State Historic Site

If the bride loves the paranormal, consider heading out to Fort Morgan State Historic Site in Gulf Shores, Alabama. This bachelorette party venue will cater to both history buffs and those who like ghost and horror stories. Fort Morgan was completed in 1834 and served the Civil War, Spanish-American War, and both World Wars. Rent a condo on Orange beach, then head to Fort Morgan State Historic Site. Afterward, head back to the condo for an all-girls slumber party. Watch plenty of scary movies or paranormal TV shows, tell ghost stories, and bring out the Ouija board for the first time since high school. If you dare, take a stroll along the beach after the sun has set; chances are, everyone will be spooked.
