Overview
Kids can learn a lot while they're at play. The most educational kids' games don't involve computers or Nintendo. Keep the age of the child in mind when you give them educational games, adapting the content so it will be appropriate to the specific age of the child (from ages 6 to 17).

Educational Bingo
Play exactly like regular bingo, with bingo cards and five-in-a-row winners, only use educational terms instead of numbers on the cards. The words on the cards shouldn't be called by the caller. Instead, the caller must call the definition. For example, if the caller calls "the first president of the United States," the player must mark "George Washington" on the bingo card.

Memory Cards
To help kids memorize terms and definitions, have them create their own memory cards. On one side, write the term. For example, if you want to teach a kid about dinosaurs write "stegosaurus" on one side. The other side should be a picture of a stegosaurus. Every card should have a picture on one side, with writing on the other side. Kids can challenge themselves whenever they want with these memory cards.

Puzzle Games
Puzzle games work the problem-solving parts of a child's brain. These games are usually not competitive, but extra credit can be given to the kid who finishes the puzzle first. Some examples of puzzle games include crossword puzzles, sudoku, word jumble, hangman and word search.
