Overview
Whether you are looking for something to do with your children or an easy way to decorate your home for the winter season, you may find that snowman crafts is the answer. You may find creating snowmen is not only enjoyable, easy and inexpensive, it can also serve as a holiday tradition for your family.

Ornaments
You can use old glass or plastic ornaments that you have around the house, or you can purchase new ones. White bulbs work best. Using acrylic paint, dot some black paint onto each bulb for the mouth and eyes. Use orange paint for the carrot nose. Allow the paint to dry by allowing the bulbs to sit in their original packaging tray, which will prevent the wet bulbs from rolling around. Within minutes, the plain bulbs are transformed into snowmen. These can be hung on a holiday tree or given as gifts.

Clay-Pot Bell
Use small clay pots that you can paint white. Turn the pots upside down so the wider end is at the bottom. This craft is just for the snowman's head, although you could alter it to create a full snowman. Drill a tiny hole on each side of the pots for the arms, and one on top of the snowman's head. Using black paint, place dots for the eyes and mouth. Use orange paint for the nose. Insert small twigs into the holes of the pot and secure with hot glue from the inside of the pots. Insert a small twig at the top of the pot and secure it in the same fashion. From the inside of the pot, attach a small bell on a string to the twig that comes through the top.

Styrofoam Snowman
You will need two Styrofoam balls, with one being twice the size of the other. The larger ball will act as the bottom half of the snowman and the smaller ball will be the head. Take the large ball and smash it against a hard surface, just enough to flatten a side so your snowman can stand up without help. Add a toothpick halfway through the top of the larger ball. Attach the small ball by placing it on the exposed end of the toothpick. You can leave the balls as is and paint on the face and buttons. Add a piece of small fabric around the snowman's neck for a scarf and use small sticks for the arms.
