Fish Oil Health Benefit

Omega-3 has numerous health benefits. Omega-3 is known to help people at high risk for heart disease. Omega-3 can be obtained in the diet by eating fish that is low in calories. Fatty fish that contain Omega-3 include salmon, albacore tuna, mackerel, lake trout, herring and sardines.
Food for the Brain
Omega-3 fish oils help memory and reasoning abilities. The fatty acids assist normal brain function. The combination of diet, exercise and sleep can alter our mental functions.
The American Heart Association recommends fish oil for improving heart health. The AHA suggests eating fatty fish at minimum two times per week for heart benefits.
Heart Attack and Stroke Protection
Omega-3 oils help prevent blood from clotting, a major risk factor for heart attack and stroke. The oil thins the blood helping it flow better through arteries.
A Harvard study of patients showed their bipolar depression in remission from Omega-3 supplements. The Psychosomatic Medicine study shows patients reduced stress and depression levels using Omega-3.
Omega-3 fish oil helps prevent common cancers such as colon cancer, breast cancer and prostate cancer, stopping cells changing from healthy cells to cancerous cells.
