Essiac Tea Benefits

by Rebecca Moore
  • Overview

Essiac tea is an herbal supplement considered to have many benefits, particularly building up the immune system and detoxifying the body. People drink essiac tea to treat specific illnesses and also for overall health.
  • Toxins and Metals

Essiac tea is believed to have a detoxification effect on the liver by making fatty toxins water-soluble so they can then be excreted. Essiac tea eliminates or at least reduces heavy metal deposits in tissues. This results in the reduction of stiff and inflamed joints. It also fights against the effects of mercury poisoning.

  • Bones, Ligaments and Joints

Bones, ligaments and joints are made stronger and more flexible as a result of drinking essiac tea, resulting in the reduction of stress injuries.
  • Muscles, Organs and Tissues

A reduction of the buildup of deposits of fat in the heart, liver, kidneys and artery walls is believed to occur as a result of drinking essiac tea. It also helps the liver produce lecithin, an important part of the myelin sheath.
  • Blood

Essiac tea increases the production of red blood cells, prevents them from rupturing and helps to purify the blood.
  • Considerations

Essiac tea is not FDA tested or approved.
