    Although used in a variety of crimes, date rape drugs are also used to commit sexual assault. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, sexual assault is "any type of sexual activity that a person does not agree to."
  • Rohypnol

    Amnesia is the most commonly reported effect "Roofies" also cause short-term loss of muscle control, slurred speech, decreased blood pressure and a "drunk" feeling.
 
  • GHB

    GHB (Gamma Hydroxybutyric Acid) causes visual disturbances, drowsiness, dizziness and problems with coordination. In high doses, it can cause breathing difficulties, seizures or a coma.
  • Ketamine

    "Out of body" experiences are often reported. A potent, fast-acting drug, it causes difficulties with coordination, disorientation and memory loss.
  • MDMA

    Commonly known as "Ecstasy," MDMA causes increased blood pressure, muscle tension, nausea and blurred vision. It can interfere with a body's ability to regulate temperature and cause temporary depression, appetite loss and fatigue.
  • How They are Delivered

    Date rape drugs are often put into an unsuspecting person's drink. They generally have no taste, odor or color when mixed into drinks.
  • What to Do If Drugged

    If you believe that you have been drugged, contact the police immediately. You should also have a friend or family member take you to the hospital for an examination since these drugs can be deadly.
