Along with Nike's Swoosh and McDonald's Golden Arches, Ford's famous Blue Oval is one of the world's most recognizable logos. Though Ford's logo has been altered throughout the last century, the Ford Motor Company has remained loyal to the original design.

The Ford Motor Company
The Ford Motor Company began business in the early 20th century and is considered one of the world's principal manufacturers of cars and trucks. The Ford brand also includes the makes of Lincoln and Mercury.

The Ford Logo
The famous Ford logo, which displays the company name written in script, was designed by the friend and employee of Henry Ford, Childe Harold Wills, also known as C. Harold Wills.

C. Harold Wills
Born in Indiana, C. Harold Wills practiced calligraphy and "appeared destined to excel in the technical arts"; his father was a master railroad mechanic.

Wills and Ford
C. Harold served as a chief designer and metallurgist with the Ford Motor Company and is also to be credited for the conception and design of the infamous Model-T. At his wedding, Wills named Henry Ford as his best man.

Centennial Blue Oval
In 2003 Ford celebrated 100 years of business and unveiled an updated logo. The new logo, termed the Centennial Blue Oval, remains respectfully loyal to Will's original design.
