How to Delete Songs From an iPod 4G

    When your iPod 4G is full and you want to add a new album or playlist, you'll need to get rid of something to make room. Luckily, deleting content from your iPod is not difficult and can be done very quickly. Using iTunes, you can add and delete music and pictures in only a few seconds, allowing you full control of your iPod content.
  • Deleting Songs From Your iPod 4G

 
  • Step 1

    Turn on your computer and load iTunes.
  • Step 2

    Attach the cable to your iPod 4G and put the other end into your computer's USB port or FireWire post.
  • Step 3

    When your iPod is recognized, click on your iPod in the left column.
  • Step 4

    Click the "Music" heading under your iPod's name.
  • Step 5

    Explore your iPod and find the songs or albums you wish to delete.
  • Step 6

    Right click on the song(s) you wish to delete and select "delete" from the menu.

    Click "Delete" on the pop-up menu.

  • Highlight multiple songs or albums by holding the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard while selecting songs. If your version of iTunes is set to automatically sync with your iPod, delete the song from your iTunes library and it will automatically delete the song from your iPod the next time it syncs.
