How to Decorate a Unity Candle With Pressed Flowers
by Andrea Buckner Schoenherr
-
Step 1
Obtain the flowers, herbs, or leaves to press. Take more than you will need. They will each turn out differently when pressed, and you want to have a wide selection.
-
Step 2
Place in a flower press or between the pages of a book. An old phone book works well.
-
Step 3
Leave the flowers in the press for at least two weeks. Some varieties take four weeks. Make sure they are completely dried before removing.
-
Step 4
After the flowers have fully dried, experiment with different layouts of the flowers on store-bought candles. Decide how to arrange the flowers. Leave ample room for the candle to burn during the ceremony without reaching the flowers.
-
Step 5
Use a hot glue gun or craft glue to secure the flowers onto the candle.
