Overview
Decorating a baby's nursery can be a very fun and exciting time where you have the opportunity to connect with the people around you and have fun preparing for the little bundle of joy. Choosing each detail for the babies nursery is very important and is something that can be accomplished on a limited budget, which allows you not having to worry about spending a lot of money out of your pocket and saving up.

Step 1
You should start by choosing pieces of artwork or bedding set that you intend to put into the nursery. You can paint first if you wish, but it's better to have chosen the artwork first so that you can color coordinate with the paint of color that you wish to choose. If the color of the walls is more important to you, then do that first. Choose the item to work around and then proceed with the next items.

Step 2
Next, you should choose nice furniture for the nursery. The furniture in the nursery can be a matching set or pieced together. Ensure that all furniture meets safety requirements, such as no led paint or defects with you are putting it together yourself. If you are going to use large furniture items such as dressers or a changing table, make sure it is fastened to the wall before the baby is able to move so the pieces do not fall due to pulling or climbing. Furniture can be painted and customized to match the theme of the room and paint color you chose. For child safety, choose a low VOC paint. Rocking chairs and gliders come in many different colors and shapes.

Step 3
Choose curtains or blinds for the nursery. If you concerned about things like allergens, choose blinds or shades instead of curtains which can collect a lot of dust overtime.
-
Step 4
One thing you can do is add a bright rug to add character and warmth to a plain boring floor. Make sure the rug is not loose and can't be kicked up while walking into the nursery because you will be making a lot of trips into there and you do not want to trip, especially when you are holding the baby.

Step 5
A great addition to a nursery is a small map. If the nursery is going to be used at midnight, set up a small lamp or light that will create less light. This will allow you to save some money on hydro. Some lamps contain multiple settings so you can use them to help keep the room dim.

Step 6
Artwork, photos or name letters are a very nice added touch to any nursery. You can spell out the babies name with these and put pictures beside them to make a nice small collage on the wall. You can also hang things from the ceiling which will allow your baby to have something to look at.
