How to Crochet Easter Peeps

Overview
Marshmallow peeps have been around since the 1950s and have become quite a sensation--so much so that these tasty little treats even have their own website. Peeps are always in season, but they have somehow made their way into the Easter baskets of many children as well as adults. Crafters have even started crocheting their own versions of the Easter peeps. These are just as cute as their marshmallow counterparts, and they are sugar-free.

Slip-stitch in the very first single crochet and single-crochet in the next six single crochets.
-
Cut the yarn and fasten it off.
Finishing
-
Fold the Easter peep in half length-wise, matching the two head sections together. Start in the middle of the foundation chain and sew the tail, back, head and chest together.
-
Pull the end of the yarn out through the body and up through the front of the head. Knot the yarn and trim it off at somewhat of an angle to help form the beak.
-
Use a permanent marker to draw an eye on each side of the Easter peep's head.
