How Do You Create Ringtones on a Motorola Phone?

Overview
Motorola has provided a convenient way of allowing its customers to creatively take control of their phones. Motorola Phone Tools is a complete software application that allows you to connect your Motorola phone directly to your computer and customize it through a desktop interface. Through the Melody Editor tool in the application, it is very easy to create your own custom ringtones using the music files located on your computer.

Quickly create custom ringtones for your Motorola phone

Step 1
Connect your Motorola phone to your computer through a USB cable or through a Bluetooth connection. Open the Motorola Phone Tools application (see Resources below).

Go to the left navigation column. Under the "Customize" section, select "Melody Editor."

Go to the "Melody Files" section and click "My PC." Navigate to your music collection and select the music file you want to use for your ringtone.

Click "Crop" in the "Selection" section. Drag the left and right ruler bars to indicate the start and end point of your ringtone.

Click the "Play" button in the "Preview" window to listen to your ringtone before cropping and finalizing it.

Click the green checkmark button in the "Selection" navigation bar. If you wish to start over, click the red "X."

Click "Transfer to Phone" in the "Selection" navigation bar. Enter a file name of your ringtone and click "OK."
