How to Create a Bead Web

Overview
Spiderwebs are as distinctive as the spiders that weave them. You can make a spiderweb decoration to adorn the garden or a window, or make a spooky Halloween decoration. Whatever your reason to make your web, you can do it as unusual as what you would find in nature.

Step 1
Remove the pointed tips from the skewers. Begin to wrap a piece of wire about a foot long around all three skewers. Continue to cover until you have secured the tail. Spread the skewers out to make an "X" with one skewer straight down the middle. Wrap the wire clockwise around the center of the "X". Secure the tail under the center where the wire was wrapped.
-
Step 2
Cut a piece of wire that is about 18 inches. Wrap the tail around a skewer to secure and string on as many or as few beads as you want. Move to the next skewer, wrap the wire around twice and thread on some beads. Continue this process until you have made it back around to the first skewer. Secure the wire around the first skewer and trim the excess.
-
Step 3
Continue making circles in this way until you reach the end of the skewer. Each stage adds 6 to 8 inches to the length of the wire. You can use as many beads as you need to make the whole wire beaded, or just a few on each wire to look like water drops.

- You can also try this web with one continuous piece of wire. It may make it difficult in the beginning, but it would give you a great spiral pattern.
You can also bead the skewers before you assemble them into the "X" if you choose. Wrap a 6-inch piece of wire on the end of the skewer so the beads will not fall off. Thread beads onto the skewer, leaving about 1/2 inch at the end. Wrap another 6-inch piece of wire at the end to secure the beads. You want to make a little room for the beads to move so when you are making the circles with the wire you can wrap the skewer without covering a bead.

- Be careful when snipping the tips of the skewers, they will try to turn as you cut them.
