Corel Digital Painting is a software application designed for artists who want to create raster-based digital works of art. Its many features enable the artist to reproduce traditional mediums like painting and drawing and produce effects unique to digital art.
  • Paper Surfaces

Corel Painter gives artists many choices for backgrounds that simulate a paper surface, like watercolor paper or canvas. Different brush and pen tip settings help create realistic-looking drawings and paintings.

  • Brush and Pen

The brush in Corel Painter can be set for color, size, opacity, grain, saturation, bleed and jitter. The pen tip can be set for stroke and color. When a shape is created with the pen a fill can be applied.
  • Photo Editing

Corel Painter can be use as a photo-editing software to resize, crop, rotate and add effects like feathering to photos. Corel allows the user to correct color, adjust brightness and change contrast.
  • Layers

Corel Painter is capable of creating multiple layers. Layers enhance the creation of art by allowing the artist to work on one section of a piece of art without affecting another part of the art. Objects in layers can be moved to be on top of, or behind, other objects.
  • Disadvantage

The major disadvantage of using Corel painter is that it does not output files into a CMYK color format for professional printing.
