Computers are veritably everywhere, influencing our work, education and recreation as well as our language and culture. With this spread of computers has come an increase in computer literacy classes, which helps ordinary folks learn the basics.

Beginning computer literacy classes generally cover computer components, such as the keyboard, mouse and monitor; Microsoft products, such as Word and Excel; as well as Internet surfing. More advanced classes generally involve programming languages, desktop publishing and intellectual property rights.
