Colors to Dye Hair

Overview
If you've looked in the mirror lately and been bored, perhaps it's time to consider a new hair color. Coloring your hair can transform your look, make you look younger, and build your confidence. However, a poorly chosen hair color can be a temporary disaster. Before coloring your hair consider your options carefully.
-
Be Realistic
Every box of hair color has a shade chart that shows the outcome of the dyeing process based on your current hair color. Generally you can lighten hair only a few shades. If you want to transform your black hair to platinum, it can't be done with a box. You'll need the help of a professional stylist.
-
Basic Black
Those born with raven tresses are blessed with a stunning hair color. Everyone else should probably avoid it. True black hair color looks good on a very small percentage of people not actually born with it. It washes out most skin tones and can make you look sickly. If you would like to dye your hair black, try using Bigen dyes. Bigen dyes are used around the world to achieve true blacks.
-
Blonde
The darker your hair is the harder it will be to turn it blonde and keep it blonde. If your natural color is dark and your hair texture is coarse, it may be physically painful to become blond. Darker hair requires stronger bleaching agents that can cause superficial or sometimes serious scalp burns. Consider your skin tone when choosing a shade of blonde. Extreme platinum "Marilyn Monroe" blonde is not flattering to most. Like black, it's too strong of a contrast with most skin tones. Find a honey, wheat or strawberry blonde that looks great on you. The object is for you to look beautiful, not to copy someone else's look.
-
Commit to Red
Red hair dye is the hardest to remove from your hair. Harsh chemical dye strippers are needed to remove red dyes. However, if your hair is delicate it may not be safe to use strippers at all. If you dye your hair red with a classic henna hair dye, it cannot be removed and you will have to let the color grow out. So, only choose red if you're sure it's right for you. Red hair looks best on those who come by it naturally and those with cool skin tones.

Brunettes
There's a brunette shade that will look good on virtually everyone. The color brown is the result of combining red and green. Most browns will have red or green undertones. Browns with green tones are generally called "ash" browns. If your skin tone has more red tones, choose a brown with more green tones, and vice versa. The opposing colors will compliment your skin tone.
