Clean the surface of the garment, and allow it to dry thoroughly before attempting to treat any tears.

Apply the repair liquid from a leather repair kit directly to the affected area, so that the liquid covers the entire area. Allow to dry.

If the item is torn, work a patch from the repair kit onto the underside of the surface between the leather and the interior lining. If the item is only burned or scratched, you do not need to apply a patch.

Apply the correct color on top of the affected area using a small brush. Allow the area to dry before wearing the garment.
Cleaning Leather Clothing
-
Scrape off any excess dirt or debris from the article of clothing, using the edge of a credit card or similar blunt item. Do not use a knife, as this can inflict further damage to the clothing.
-
Apply saddle soap or a mild detergent directly to a clean, white cloth. Rub into the garment gently, using a circular motion.
-
Rinse the cloth thoroughly, and wring it out until it is only slightly damp. Wipe the surface of the garment thoroughly and allow to dry before wearing.
