How to Clean Leather Armchairs

by Elizabeth Grace
  • Overview

Leather armchairs lend a look of distinction to any room, but like any leather furniture, they require special care to keep them looking their best. There are several leather wipes available at your local supermarket that you can purchase to clean your leather armchairs, but they can be expensive and you will go through them quickly if your chairs are pressed into service often. To clean and condition your leather armchairs economically and efficiently, you can make your own cleaner.

  • Step 1

Mix 1/4 cup white vinegar with 1/2 cup neatsfoot oil in a clean glass or plastic container.
  • Step 2

Gently rub the mixture all over the leather parts of your armchair in a circular motion with a clean, lint-free cloth. If you have any of the white vinegar and neatsfoot oil mixture left, seal it tightly and store it for future use.
  • Step 3

Allow the mixture to sit on your leather armchair overnight.
  • Step 4

Buff the next day with a clean, lint-free cloth.
