How to Build Wooden Paintball Bunkers

Overview
One way to keep the game of paintball new and exciting is to upgrade the playing field. Upgrading the battlefield often can be done cheaply -- especially when compared with the cost of upgrading your equipment. A great way to enhance your playing area is to add bunkers, made from inexpensive or free materials.

Step 1
Measure the width of the wooden pallet. Subtract 2 inches from the width, and this is how far apart you are going to plant the two fence posts into the ground. Make sure, before you start hammering the posts into the earth, that you will be able to slide the pallet onto the fence posts.
-
Step 2
Plant the posts firmly into the ground by hand. Then, hammer them deep down into the ground until you know they are sturdy enough to safely support a pallet. This will make sure that the bunker won't collapse.
-
Step 3
Slide the pallet over the fence posts so that the pallet is standing on its side. You now have a small wall, which you will use as your bunker. Be sure to give the pallet a bit of a shake to make sure that it is stable.
-
Step 4
Attach a solid material--a piece of carpet or cardboard--to the front of the pallet so that paintballs cannot find their way through any gaps in the boards. Depending on the pallet, there might be large or small gaps between boards. With the carpet or cardboard, it now has a solid surface. A staple gun will work for the carpet, and duct tape will be fine for cardboard.

- Using carpet instead of cardboard might help save paintballs. Paintballs shot against the bunker might not break when hitting the carpet, allowing you to reuse some ammo.
