How to Browse the Internet on BlackBerry Curve

by Melody Fuller
  • Overview

Browsing the Internet on the BlackBerry Curve is enjoyable because the large screen gives the phone the look of a small computer, and most of the browsing functions are accessible from the "Menu" key. You can easily move through Web pages using the phone's trackpad, just like you would with the mouse pad on a laptop.

  • Step 1

Go to the home screen, select the "Browser" icon, which is a globe with an arrow going around it, and press the trackpad to log on to the Internet.
  • Step 2

Enter a Web address when the URL field appears on-screen. If the URL field doesn't appear, press the "Menu" key (button with the BlackBerry icon on it that's directly to the left of the trackpad), and click on "Go To" to bring up the URL field.
  • Step 3

Type a Web address in the URL field and press the "Enter" key on your typing pad to go to the Web page you entered.
  • Step 4

Press the "Menu" button on a Web page and select either "Column View" or "Page View" to change the way your browser looks. "Column View" makes the page look as it would on a phone and may take less time to load, while "Page View" makes the page look like it would on a computer, which obviously requires more time to load.
  • Step 5

Press the "Menu" button and select "Back" or "Forward" to navigate through Web pages. Select "Stop" while a page is loading to cancel the load and press "Refresh" to reload a page.
  • Step 6

Press the "Menu" button to zoom in on a page and press the "Escape" key to the right of the trackpad to return the page to its default size.
  • Step 7

Go to the home screen and click on the "Browser" icon and then click on "Close" to log off the Internet.
